Kinama is a coffee processing site in Nyabiraba Commune, Burundi, serving farmers on and around Kinama Hil. Sitting at 1,650 meters above sea level, the station currently produces dry process coffee, with farms higher up the hil. The site was built in recent years with support from USAID and local farmers. We were impressed by the fruit-forward, rustic cups produced from this coffee and found it to be very flexible in the roaster. The Kinama site is run by the same group as the nearby Migoti washing station, headed by Dan Brose and his partner Poncien.
